Minister of Industry Visits Soroush Sustainable Energy Petrochemical Construction Site

On the afternoon of December 20, the Minister of Industry, Mining, and Trade visited the under-construction Soroush Sustainable Energy Petrochemical site located in the Parsian Special Economic Zone.

During the visit, attended by Mohammad Aghajanloo, Head of the IMIDRO Executive Board, and Vajiollah Jafari, Deputy Minister of Mines and Mineral Processing, Afshin Sharafi, CEO of Soroush Sustainable Energy, which is a subsidiary of the Pasargad Energy Group, provided insights into the Soroush Polyolefin project. He stated that the first phase of the project will produce methanol, while the second phase will focus on the production of polypropylene and high-density polyethylene, with operations expected to commence by December 2026.

Sharafi highlighted that this project will be the first petrochemical facility in Hormozgan province. He noted that the current physical progress of the project stands at 44.5%. The EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) components show a progress rate of 83.07% in detailed engineering, 45.11% in the procurement of equipment and materials, and 29.8% in construction and foundation installation. It is anticipated that by the end of the year, the overall project progress will reach 60%.
