Specialized Seminar on EPD Projects Experiences and Findings Held with Two Thousand Attendees

A specialized seminar addressing experiences and findings in EPD projects within the oil and gas industry was held by Pasargad Energy Group in collaboration with the Scientific Association of the Faculty of Petroleum and Energy Geology at Amirkabir University of Technology. The event attracted around two thousand participants, with over 400 attending in person and nearly 1,600 following the seminar online through Aparat and Instagram platforms.

The seminar, part of Pasargad Energy Group's commitment to social responsibilities in the field of education and fostering productive relationships with universities, took place on Saturday, December 15, at the central amphitheater of Amirkabir University. Dr. Mohammad Javad Amiri, Dean of the Faculty of Petroleum and Energy Geology, praised the group's efforts in supporting universities through industrial project backing, internship programs, and scientific visits, describing the performance as successful. He expressed hope that other oil companies and E&P firms would emulate Pasargad Energy Group's approach, emphasizing the potential of universities to meet various industry needs.

He cited the development project of the Sepehr and Jofeir oil fields as a successful case where Pasargad Energy Group leveraged domestic capabilities, including partnerships with universities, to achieve project goals. Amiri highlighted that a serious commitment from the industry to collaborate with universities could effectively address many of the oil sector's challenges.

Following this, Ali Khajavi, CEO of Pejvak Energy, a subsidiary of Pasargad Energy Group, introduced his company and discussed the key factors leading to the success of oil and gas projects, along with the necessary skills for successful project execution. He identified the Sepehr and Jofeir oil field development projects and the Qezel Tappeh Gas Field project in Golestan province as significant examples of the company’s successful work, noting the Qezel Tappeh project as unprecedented in its unique pressure and temperature conditions, which had not seen similar drilling since before the revolution. The successful completion of this drilling set a new benchmark for showcasing the technical, engineering, and operational capabilities of Iranian companies in the drilling sector.

Saeed Sohaili, project manager for Sepehr, Jofeir, and Qezel Tappeh projects at Pejvak Energy, outlined the achievements of these EPD projects, highlighting important records in production increases, reduced drilling times, domestic equipment manufacturing, and project safety.

In the second part of the seminar, a specialized panel titled "Achievements of Operational Execution in Pejvak Energy Projects" was held, where experts and managers from Pejvak Engineering examined the company’s project achievements in detail.

Among the speakers, Pyruz Heydarizadeh, Senior Drilling Engineering Expert, discussed the results of a systematic approach to planning oil and gas drilling, using the Qezel Tappeh project as a case study; Soheyla Amiri, Geological Studies Expert, focused on controlling the drilling path in reservoir layers using geosteerable services based on the Sepehr and Jofeir project; Dariush Hassanvand, Earth Sciences Manager, presented on optimizing casing and liner based on the Siyahmakan project; Hamid Shahbanpour, Senior Cementing Engineer, explained the design and implementation of cementing operations for the HT-HP well based on the Qezel Tappeh project; Ali Zar'i Forosh, Production Engineering Chief, spoke on designing and optimizing testing operations for HT-HP wells, again using the Qezel Tappeh project; and Behzad Talebi, Deputy Engineering and Building at Pejvak, addressed the factors leading to project success or failure.
