The large educational complex of Dar al-Funun Pasargad in Ardabil was inaugurated on Thursday, November 10, during a ceremony attended by Alireza Kazemi, the Minister of Education; Majid Ghasemi, CEO of Pasargad Bank; Ali Nikzad, Deputy Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly; several representatives from the province; and Alireza Sadegh Abadi, CEO of the Pasargad Energy Group.
This educational complex was built through the efforts of Pasargad Bank and Pasargad Energy Development Company in less than 10 months, with an investment of approximately 30 trillion rials, covering more than 10,000 square meters of educational, cultural, and sports space. At the beginning of the inauguration ceremony, Seyyed Hamid Ameli, the Governor of Ardabil, highlighted the serious shortage of 2,000 classrooms in the province and praised the establishment of this educational complex, which includes 30 classrooms equipped with a sports hall, an amphitheater, a library, and laboratories.
Following that, Alireza Kazemi, the Minister of Education, regarded the establishment of the Dar al-Funun Pasargad complex in Ardabil Province as a significant and unique initiative with a lofty vision, stating that entering such a beautiful, entertaining, and delightful cultural and artistic space inherently motivates students. He affirmed that students who study in this environment, with its noble title, will possess a different spirit, confidence, and dignity, and will undoubtedly demonstrate enhanced efforts.
Dr. Kazemi further stated: "Do not doubt that this lasting foundation, along with the philanthropic and benevolent actions of Pasargad Bank—which were established solely with a divine, heavenly mindset and love for the country—will become a place for the cultivation of lofty thoughts and great scholars in this country."
Majid Ghasemi, CEO of Pasargad Bank, also noted that he studied at the Dar al-Funun School in Tehran for six years and remarked: "Amir Kabir was the source of many services to the country, one of which is Dar al-Funun. Dar al-Funun is not just a school; it embodies a message and a philosophy. From Dar al-Funun Pasargad in Ardabil, great literary figures, poets, Quran memorizers, and engineers should emerge."
He emphasized that their motivation for engaging in the construction of schools was the issue of educational justice, which fortunately ranks at the forefront of the programs of the respected President and has also been underscored by the Minister of Education.
Ali Nikzad, the Deputy Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, also expressed his gratitude to the executors, advisors, and contractors of this project, stating: "I have visited the project 14 times and believe that very good execution work has been carried out."
This school, inspired by the architecture of Amir Kabir's Dar al-Funun, has been implemented by Sivan Tadbir Tejarat Company, a subsidiary of the Pasargad Energy Group, and is currently welcoming female students in the first and second phases of secondary education.
